Foliage:Basal leaves hairy, lance-shaped, broader towards tip, 4-50 mm x 0.5-6 mm, becoming narrow. Margins entire or with few small teeth, flat or wavy.
Flowers:Blue, 5 petalled, single narrowly bell-shaped flowers to 12 mm wide on branching stalks. October-March.
An attractive vigorous herb especially mass planted or planted in drifts. Plant in large container with other herbs or under a small shrub, in cottage gardens and rockeries. Nectar for butterflies.
